Hardest Day of My Year

If you asked me what's been the most challenging event/project in my career thus far, the answer would be the first annual Starlight Supper.

The second most challenging? The second annual Starlight Supper.

Yet, it's also the most rewarding project and the event that I'm most proud of!

I apologize in advance for the photo overload in this post. I'm so obsessed with this event, and I'm in love with all of the photos. Thank you [times a million] to Chris and Josh for capturing so many of these moments. If anyone needs a photographer, give Chris a ring. And if you're looking for some photos to hang in your home or office, Josh's panoramics are my favorite!

Starlight Supper has so many moving parts, so many city ordinances and health code rules to consider, quite a bit of heavy manual labor, and a great deal of choreography and timing. Needless to say, it's a labor of love!


The weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor 5-course dinner last Thursday - it was 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky!

The strong morning winds made it a wee bit scary to be atop a 6 ft. ladder to wrap the neon orange tension straps in black ribbon -- a tiny detail but a major aesthetic impact!



I just adore the Factor110 crew and appreciate them so much. This is no easy event setup, but they did an amazing job! I love that moment when the park transitions and you can see the event taking shape.



Getting the tables set is such a huge, multi-step process. Once the tables are ready for guests, I can feel myself getting giddy with excitement. This event is just so pretty!




Poppy Lane Design did such a beautiful job with the floral arrangements. Swoon!






We had just enough time to run back to the office to change for the event. Our DOKC team makes it all an adventure and a blast to work our booties off!


It was time to open the "doors" and let the people in!





Tammy Payne, from News 9, was our emcee and she did an absolutely beautiful job! 


I could not be luckier when it comes to the culinary team for Starlight Supper. These talented and passionate chefs make it a joy to put this event together! 





I loved it that Chef Chris turned around during his presentation to take a selfie with all of the guests.

If you ask me, the best part of the evening is when the sun starts to fade and the lights overhead begin to shine. 





Braden Nix was our entertainment for the evening and he was such a crowd pleaser! I am already making a list of other events where I can have him perform. 




It's always super special to me when my friends take time out of their busy schedules to attend one of my events and support the work that we do at DOKC.

This event makes me so proud of how the community in OKC embraces Starlight Supper. Thank you thank you thank you to all who attended!


Oh, I also need to give Chris one more shoutout for capturing the two hats that I wear at this event --guest & coordinator.



By the way, I totally got a massage the day after the event - adrenaline got me through the 16-hour day, but man, my back and neck were a mess the day after. #OldLadyAlert

  1. Ugh! So bummed I missed this. I planned on going, but then it went and passed me by before I even noticed! It looks so wonderful. You did such a great job!! Who did the design work for the event?
